Miami, Fl. Julio 07 2022.  Luego de un primer semestre muy exitoso, el cantautor ganador del Latin Grammy Mike Bahía regresa hoy para encender la segunda mitad de 2022 con su impactante nuevo sencillo “La Falta”, junto al ícono de la música regional mexicana Carín León. 

La canción despertó el interés inmediato de Bahía, quien luego de recibirla por parte del compositor galardonado con 4 Latin Grammy y nominado a 2 Grammy Anglo, Keityn (¨Tusa¨), decidió esperar el momento perfecto para estrenarla. 

Cuando un hecho violento ocurrió en un estadio de fútbol de México a principios de este año, el artista colombiano, finalmente se decidió a lanzar este tema lleno de emociones y recurrió a la cautivadora voz de Carín León, para ayudarlo a transmitir el potente mensaje.  León quedó cautivado al escuchar la letra poderosa y la melodía de la canción y, ahora, ambos artistas comparten “La Falta” con los oyentes de todo el mundo. 

El tema es una declaración en contra de la violencia que, con frecuencia, tiene lugar en los partidos de fútbol. Además, habla sobre las dolorosas consecuencias de ese tipo de sucesos, brindando un profundo testimonio de amor y paz en el proceso. 

“El fútbol puede originar violencia en los estadios, y a aquellos que cometen actos de violencia entre sí, los invito a ver este video para que aprendan que la persona a la que atacaron tiene una madre, un hermano, una novia, al igual que ellos. Soy un creyente de que ese tipo de mensajes puede tener un impacto más directo en los que participan en esas escenas, para convertir al fútbol en un escenario de paz”, comenta Bahía. 

El video oficial se filmó en el estadio mexicano donde ocurrieron los hechos y que sirve como sede de uno de los equipos de fútbol que estuvo involucrado en el incidente que Bahía siguió por Twitter.

El día de la filmación, dicho equipo ganó su primer partido en mucho tiempo, lo cual, a los ojos del artista, fue un evento increíble y un buen augurio. “Creo que el fútbol nos da la oportunidad de acercarnos y de sembrar esta semilla de la paz a través de historias, que creo que es una forma de decirle a los que participan en esos eventos que su reacción es exagerada al irse en contra del otro. Hacerle saber que debe respetar a las madres y eso duele… El fútbol debería ser eso, más que un color, más que un equipo, una manera de compartir la pasión. La idea es sembrar una semilla de paz”, afirma Bahía.

Al tocar las emociones más profundas que experimentamos como seres humanos y al hablar de las relaciones y los eventos de la actualidad, “La Falta” es otro extraordinario ejemplo del gran impacto que Bahía continúa teniendo en sus fanáticos, a través de canciones cautivadoras y auténticas, enraizadas en el amor y el respeto,  y que sirven como banda sonora de sus vidas.

Miami, Fl. July 7 2022. After a very successful first half of the year, Latin Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Mike Bahía returns today to ignite the second half of 2022, with his impactful new single “La Falta” alongside regional Mexican icon Carin León.

Bahía immediately resonated with “La Falta” upon receiving it from the 4-time Latin Grammy and 2-time Grammy nominee Keityn (“Tusa”), but he wasn’t ready to release it right away, instead deciding to hold onto the song, until the perfect moment. When an act of violence occurred earlier this year in a soccer stadium in Mexico, the Colombian artist was finally inspired to drop the emotionally-driven track, on which he envisioned the compelling vocals of Carin León to help deliver its potent message to the public. After hearing the song, León was immediately hooked by the powerful lyrics and melodies and now together, Carin and Bahía share “La Falta” with listeners around the world, both as a statement against the violence that often occurs in soccer stadiums and to speak to the painful aftermath of such events, providing a deep testimony to love and peace in the process.

“Soccer can be violent in stadium,  but anyone that commits violent acts against another, I would like that person to see this video and know that that person against whom he committed violence has a mother, a brother, a girlfriend, just like him. I’m a believer that those kinds of messages can have a more direct impact on the participants of that scene and turn soccer into a setting of peace,” Bahía says.

The official music video was filmed in the Mexican stadium where one of these violent games occurred, which is also the home of one of the soccer teams that was involved in the distressing incident that Bahía saw unfold on Twitter. The day of filming, that team won their first game in a long time, which for the acclaimed performer was both an incredible event to witness and a good omen. “I think football gave us the opportunity to grow closer and to sow this seed of peace that I think is a way, through stories, to tell the participant that he is overreacting in the emotion and agitation he expresses against another. Then let him realize that you have to respect mothers and that makes it hurt…Soccer should be that, more than a color, more than a team, a way to share a passion. The idea is to sow the seed of peace,”Bahía states.

Speaking to the deepest emotions that we experience as humans, simultaneously touching on relationships and current events, “La Falta” is yet another extraordinary example of the remarkable impact Bahía continues to have on his fans,  through poignant and authentic songs rooted in love and respect, that are now shaping the soundtrack of their lives.
