Miami, Florida. (21 de noviembre de 2022). La carismática cantautora cubana, y ahora ganadora del Premio Grammy Latino, Ángela Álvarez, está lista para hacer su esperado debut en el popular programa de televisión “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” donde seguirá demostrando el coraje y la pasión, que ya ha conmovido a innumerables personas en todo el mundo. El programa se transmitirá esta noche a las 11:35 p. m. E.T / 8:35 p. m. C.T. por ABC.  

 

Álvarez hizo historia durante la 23va Entrega Anual de los Premios Grammy Latinos la semana pasada, convirtiéndose en la artista de mayor edad en obtener el prestigioso premio al ¨Mejor Nuevo Artista¨ a la edad de 95 años. Su revolucionaria victoria, conmovió a la audiencia en el Michelob ULTRA Arena de Las Vegas hasta las lágrimas y los dejó profundamente impactados por la increíble resistencia y determinación que esta artista única ha demostrado. Todo mientras comienza una nueva vida, construida sobre la fuerza profunda de su gran sueño: Llegar a ser una cantante.

 

Después de años de espera para perseguir sus metas musicales y a pesar de las dificultades y tragedias personales que ha tenido que enfrentar durante su vida,, el deseo de Ángela de convertirse en cantante y compositora finalmente se hizo realidad con la ayuda de su nieto, el compositor cinematográfico Carlos José Álvarez, quien estaba tan inspirado por el talento de su abuela, que reunió a un equipo de músicos ganadores del Grammy de primera clase, para grabar su álbum debut homónimo de 2021, el proyecto que la llevó a su histórica nominación al Latin Grammy y ser la gran ganadora de este año.

 

La vida de Ángela se ha celebrado en un hermoso documental titulado “Miss Angela”, que fue desarrollado por los cineastas Paul Toogood y Lloyd Stanton y narrado por el legendario actor Andy García; y también hizo una aparición en la película de HBO de 2022 “Father of the Bride”, donde interpretó el papel de ¨Tia Pili¨, junto a García.

(November 21, 2022). The spectacularly talented Cuban singer-songwriter and now Latin Grammy Award winner, Ángela Álvarez, is set to make her highly anticipated debut on the popular television show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” where she will continue to demonstrate the courage and passion that has already touched countless people around the world with an extraordinary emotion-driven performance. The show will air tonight at 11:35 PM/10:35 PM CT on ABC.

 

Emerging from a life filled with hardship and tragedy, Álvarez made history during the 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards last week, becoming the oldest artist to ever garner the prestigious Best New Artist award at the age of 95. Her groundbreaking win moved the audience at Las Vegas’s Michelob ULTRA Arena to tears and left them deeply impacted by the incredible resilience and determination that this once-in-a-lifetime artist has demonstrated, all while beginning a new life built on the profound strength of a lifelong dream.

 

After years of waiting to pursue her musical goals, Ángela’s desire to become a singer and songwriter finally came to pass with the help of her grandson, cinematic composer Carlos José Álvarez, who was so inspired by his grandmother’s talent that he gathered a team of world-class Grammy winning musicians to record her self-titled 2021 debut album, the project that led to her historic Latin Grammy nomination and win this year.
