EL PINTOR COLOMBIANO-ESTADOUNIDENSE SE SUMA A LA SUBASTA DEL EVENTO DE W AVIATION, QUE RECAUDARÁ FONDOS PARA COMBUSTIBLE Y LOGÍSTICA DE LOS AVIONES QUE TRANSPORTAN AYUDA A LAS COMUNIDADES AFECTADAS POR LA TRAGEDIA EN LA GUAIRA.

Miami, FL – 15 de julio de 2026 – El artista multidisciplinario Juan Salcedo se suma a “Hope on Wings”, el evento humanitario presentado por W Aviation, con la donación de su obra Donna Forte, una pieza de 48” x 60” realizada en acrílico y aerosol sobre lienzo, que formará parte de la subasta en vivo que se llevará a cabo este jueves 16 de julio en el W Aviation Hangar, en Fort Lauderdale. La iniciativa busca recaudar fondos para el combustible y la logística de los vuelos que transportan ayuda humanitaria a Venezuela tras la reciente tragedia ocurrida en La Guaira.

Para Salcedo, la donación nace de un vínculo personal con Venezuela y con las historias latinoamericanas que marcaron su formación. Aunque nació en Estados Unidos y es hijo de padres colombianos, el artista creció escuchando relatos sobre la Venezuela que conocieron sus padres: desde la vida de su madre en Caracas y los familiares que aún permanecen allí, hasta los recuerdos de su padre sobre un país asociado a la prosperidad y al movimiento cultural de otra época.

La obra donada por Salcedo cobra un nuevo significado dentro del contexto de esta misión. “Muchas veces mis obras nacen sin un mensaje o una intención completamente definida. Es solo al terminarlas que descubro lo que mi subconsciente realmente quería expresar”, dijo el artista. “Cuando W Aviation me presentó la oportunidad de donar esta pintura en apoyo a los afectados por la tragedia en La Guaira, el propósito de la obra se volvió inmediatamente claro”.

En Donna Forte, una figura sin identidad definida —sin importar si es hombre o mujer— representa al ser humano frente a la adversidad. “Los guantes de boxeo simbolizan la fortaleza, la resiliencia y la capacidad de levantarse y enfrentar cualquier adversidad”, añadió Salcedo. “Los colores de la bandera venezolana envuelven la composición, mientras que también están presentes los de mi propia bandera, la colombiana, como un recordatorio de que nuestras historias, nuestras culturas y nuestros pueblos siempre han estado profundamente unidos”.

“Hoy, todos estamos con Venezuela. Para mí es un verdadero honor poder aportar mi pequeño grano de arena a través de aquello que más amo: el arte”, concluyó.

La velada se realizará de 7:00 p.m. a 11:00 p.m. at W Aviation Hangar, ubicado en 2400 W Cypress Creek Rd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309, y reunirá a la comunidad de aviación, artistas, voluntarios, empresas y donantes bajo una misma misión: mantener en el aire los vuelos humanitarios que llevan suministros esenciales a las familias afectadas. El evento contará con historias de la misión, estaciones de comida, música en vivo y una subasta de obras donadas en apoyo a la causa. El valor de la reserva es de $100 por persona.

Miami, FL – July 15, 2026 – Multidisciplinary artist Juan Salcedo joins “Hope on Wings,” the humanitarian event presented by W Aviation, with the donation of his work Donna Forte, a 48” x 60” piece created with acrylic and spray paint on canvas, which will be part of the live auction taking place this Thursday, July 16, at the W Aviation Hangar in Fort Lauderdale. The initiative seeks to raise funds for the fuel and logistics of the flights transporting humanitarian aid to Venezuela following the recent tragedy in La Guaira.

For Salcedo, the donation comes from a personal connection to Venezuela and to the Latin American stories that shaped his upbringing. Although he was born in the United States and is the son of Colombian parents, the artist grew up hearing stories about the Venezuela his parents knew: from his mother’s time living in Caracas and the relatives who still remain there, to his father’s memories of a country once associated with prosperity and cultural movement.

The work donated by Salcedo takes on new meaning within the context of this mission. “Many times, my works are born without a fully defined message or intention. It is only after I finish them that I discover what my subconscious was really trying to express,” said the artist. “When W Aviation presented me with the opportunity to donate this painting in support of those affected by the tragedy in La Guaira, the purpose of the work became immediately clear.”

In Donna Forte, a figure without a defined identity — regardless of whether it is male or female — represents the human being in the face of adversity. “The boxing gloves symbolize strength, resilience, and the ability to rise and confront any adversity,” added Salcedo. “The colors of the Venezuelan flag wrap around the composition, while the colors of my own flag, the Colombian flag, are also present as a reminder that our stories, our cultures, and our people have always been deeply connected.”

“Today, we all stand with Venezuela. For me, it is a true honor to be able to contribute my small grain of sand through what I love most: art,” he concluded.

The evening will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at W Aviation Hangar, located at 2400 W Cypress Creek Rd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309, and will bring together the aviation community, artists, volunteers, companies, and donors under one mission: to keep humanitarian flights in the air, carrying essential supplies to affected families. The event will feature mission stories, food stations, live music, and an auction of donated artworks in support of the cause. The reservation fee is $100 per person.
