Miami, FL (March 11, 2024). Grupo 5, the iconic Peruvian band known for their infectious cumbia songs, continues to celebrate their impressive 51st anniversary as a band with the release of "Grupo 5: 50 Años (En Vivo Estadio San Marcos)".
Recorded live at the San Marcos Stadium in Lima, Peru, the album is a massive, in-depth compilation of 45 of the band's best-loved songs released over the past five decades, some of which were originally recorded in the 1970s, when the group began its career.
This unparalleled project, produced by Grupo 5 vocalist Christian Yaipen, Andy Yaipen, and bassist Elmer Yaipen, combines the best of the band's three outstanding shows at the 50,000-capacity stadium in Lima, preserving along with their impeccable musical sets the magical and electrifying anticipation among fans that palpably filled the air each night.
Offering a wide selection of fan favorites such as El Ritmo de mi Corazón, Eres Mi Bien, Quien Cura and El Teléfono, among others, the band performed some of their biggest hits alongside special guests Gian Marco, Noel Schjarís and Daniela Darcourt. The legendary group also paid tribute to the unique musical history of their native country, including traditional Peruvian dances such as the Marinera and the Huayno in all three shows, with songs sung alongside artists specializing in both genres.
