Miami, Florida (November 21, 2022). Charismatic Cuban singer-songwriter, and now Latin Grammy Award winnerÁngela Álvarezis ready to make her long-awaited debut on the popular television show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" where he will continue to demonstrate the courage and passion that has already touched countless people around the world. The program will be broadcast tonight at 11:35 p.m. E.T. / 8:35 p.m. C.T. by ABC.  

 

Alvarez made history during the 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards last week, becoming the oldest artist to win the prestigious "Best New Artist" award at the age of 95. Her groundbreaking win, moved the audience at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas to tears and left them deeply impacted by the incredible resilience and determination this unique artist has demonstrated. All while starting a new life, built on the profound strength of her great dream: to become a singer.

 

After years of waiting to pursue her musical goals and despite the hardships and personal tragedies she has faced throughout her life, Angela's desire to become a singer and songwriter finally came true with the help of her grandson, film composer Carlos Jose Alvarez, who was so inspired by his grandmother's talent that he assembled a team of world-class, Grammy-winning musicians to record her eponymous 2021 debut album, the project that led to her historic Latin Grammy nomination and this year's big winner.

 

Angela's life has been celebrated in a beautiful documentary entitled "Miss Angela," which was developed by filmmakers Paul Toogood and Lloyd Stanton and narrated by legendary actor Andy Garcia; and she also made an appearance in the 2022 HBO movie "Father of the Bride," where she played the role of ¨Tia Pili¨, alongside Garcia.
