Musically, the single highlights a familiar side of Alex Campos. His delivery at times takes on a declamatory quality, allowing the lyrics to set the pace as an acoustic guitar with Andean accents carries much of the song. From there, backing vocals, percussion, keyboards and strings gradually expand the sound without taking away from its organic character. The official music video extends that same feeling, showing Campos surrounded by live musicians and a small audience, with the musical performance at the center of the piece. The result evokes, through its intimacy and interpretive weight, a sensibility deeply connected to the artist’s musical essence.
The visual concept of the cover art further reinforces the personal nature of the release. The image recreates a Colombian identification card featuring a childhood photograph of Campos. On the eve of his 50th birthday, it connects the artist he is today with the boy he once was, making his Colombian roots an essential part of this new chapter.
“Aquí Estoy” is the third preview of the self-titled album, following “Lo Que Hoy No Pudo Ser” and “Fuimos Paralelos.” Conceived as a project recorded live as a full ensemble alongside his musicians, the album seeks to preserve the interaction and spontaneity of a shared performance.
As part of the creative process, Campos also opened a public vote between three possible album covers, inviting his followers to participate directly in one of the project’s key visual decisions.
